How Many Players Can I Have On My Roster?

You can have six players on your team: three field players and three substitutes. Matches will start if either team has a minimum of 2 players. Players can only play on one team per division. There are no goalkeepers in the 3v3 soccer tournaments.

How Long Are Games?

Games are 26 minutes long, two 12-minute halves, 2 minutes of halftime. Games tied after regulation play shall end in a tie, except in the playoffs. There are no timeouts in the 3v3 soccer tournaments.

Goal Scoring

You can only score a goal from a touch (offensive or defensive) within a team’s offensive half of the field (the ball must be entirely on the offensive half of the field: It cannot be touching the midline). If a player in their defensive end kicks the ball across the midline and hits another player (offensive or defensive), and the ball goes into the goal, a goal will be awarded.

The Goal Box

The goal box is directly in front of the goal. No ball contact is allowed within the goal box; however, any player may pass through the goal box. A goal kick is awarded regardless of who touched the ball last if the ball comes to rest in the goal box. Any part of the ball or player’s body on the line is considered in the goal box. Once the ball has broken the plane of the goal box, if the defensive team touches the ball, a goal will be awarded. A goal kick will be awarded if the offensive player touches after the ball has broken the plane. The plane of the goal box extends upward.

WHY PLAY 3V3

  • More touches on the ball.

  • Increased number of game-related decision-making opportunities.

  • Constant transition from attacking to defensive situations.

  • 1v1 encounters in both attacking and defending situations.

  • More opportunities to be in a goal-scoring position.

  • More  2v1 attacking and defending situations.
